The Black Pearl Goes Bananas 12 x 16 Inch Archival Poster
Josephine Baker, known as The Black Pearl, was an American dancer who found fame in Paris during the 1920"s Art Deco era. She created a banana skirt for a performance in the Folies Bergère where Ernest Hemingway called her "the most sensational woman anyone ever saw." Her pet cheetah Chiquita, wearing a diamond collar, would often accompany her on stage.
